Mother's Day Traditions

What is your favorite Mother's Day tradition?  Mine started about 14 years ago.  It was formed out of necessity of my husband juggling between wife, mother and mother-in-law.

Sense & SensibilityThis particular Mother's Day I told my family that all  I really needed was time to sit down and cross-stitch while watching Jane Austen's "Sense & Sensibility".  And, if there happened to be this new ice cream there, I wouldn't complain.  I told them this was the only gift I desired.  The family set out on the search for the ice cream and a tradition was created.

Every year my husband arranges the schedule so there is time for the movie.  All of the children sit in the room while I watch my movie, they may be drawing or using the computer, but they are all  with me.  It is such a refreshing time and I love it!

The real treat is the hunt!  Each year the family sets out to find the Thin MintDryer's Girl Scout Thin Mint Ice Cream.  Sometimes they are lucky and find it at the first store they visit.  However, the record stands at five grocery stores before their Mother's Day success is completed.

Now it's your turn, what is your favorite Mother's Day Tradition?  Please share your thoughts below:
